Let me find literary agents and book publishers to send your work! I love to help my fellow
writers. While you keep doing what you love
--writing!--I research book publishers and/or literary agents that I feel are best suited for your manuscript.
As a writer myself, I know how time-consuming it is to find markets to submit my creative work. It takes HOURS to sift through literary agents and book publishers to find matches for my work.
You have enough going on with your research, writing, and revising. Let me go down the rabbit holes while I find the markets that are the right match--and not the right match--for your work.
A client needed me to help her research podcasts to plug her forthcoming book. I can do that, too. What if you need help finding independent bookstores, libraries, and other venues for your book tour? Contact me! If you have an idea of something you want me to research, let's talk!
After an initial meeting, you'll fill out a questionnaire with pertinent information about yourself and your manuscript and choose the number of your search choices.
I will do the research and find literary agents and/or book publishers I feel are best for your manuscript based on the information you provide.
I will customize a "matches" report and talk you through the literary agent and/or book publisher matches I found via Zoom or in person.

The number of book publishers I'm able to find will depend on the genre. If I can't find the number of publishers you want, I will search for more literary agents, or we can make other arrangements. The industry really suggests you try and find literary agents first, but trying to find a book publisher can be an option for some genres.
*More information will be provided on the questionnaire.
*A deposit of half the search choice total with the signed questionnaire is needed before I begin researching.
*I ask for 5 - 10 business days to complete my research once the deposit is received.
*This service is provided, so that the writer can spend time writing instead of researching.
*This service is in no way a guarantee that literary agents and/or book publishers will contact you, nor is it a guarantee of publication.
"Truly the best money I have ever spent! Lisa did in-depth research, providing not only names of agents and publishers who would be the best fit for my novel but also gave the reasons for her selections, as well as the required submission guidelines. I was really impressed with how she took the time to understand my writing to find the best matches. On top of it all, she was an absolute pleasure to work with!" --C.C.
"Working with Lisa M. Bolt Simons at Manuscript Matchmaker has been an amazing experience! Could I have done this research on my own? In theory, yes. In reality, no. I continued to put it off because, frankly, the whole thing overwhelms me. How do you cut through all the literary agents and publishers out there to find just the right one to represent your book? The answer is simple: you have Lisa do it for you!" --A.K.
"Thanks so much for all the great info. Very helpful and thorough. --N.K.
"Using Manuscript Matchmaker is exactly what I needed at this point in my writing life. I am an experienced writer, but I needed more time. Lisa gave that to me. Now, while I continue to write new work, I am regularly sending out my finished manuscript to literary agents and editors she researched for me. Worth every penny!" --G.G.
"I’ll admit it—I’m one of those writers who tends to put off submitting work. It’s not because I’m afraid of rejection (which is inevitable in this business), but because I find the whole process so daunting and tedious. I have a hard time keeping track of all the book publishers, editors, and submission requirements. No matter now organized I try to be, I never feel on top of the task. I stick my toe in every once in a while, feel the cold water, and retreat.
That’s why I was so happy to hear about Lisa’s Manuscript Matchmaker business. A skilled, energetic researcher, Lisa knows the business, having published many books herself and submitting her work on a regular basis. And she understands that making a connection with a literary agent or editor isn’t simply a matter of using the right keywords. That’s just the starting point. Before she gave me her recommendations, she researched each company and found books that were similar or complementary to my manuscripts. I now have an appropriate, research-based angle for each query. And to think I have all this information in one well-organized document! It would have taken me weeks to gather all the information that Lisa provided—if I stayed with the task at all.
An additional benefit to working with Lisa is that her enthusiasm is contagious! She genuinely wants writers to find a home for their work and provides the motivating nudge some of us need. I highly recommend her services." -- N.L.
